The PSA Foundation recently attended the XXIV Pan American Championships Qualifying Event, which brought together 18 squash federations from across the Americas
Taking place in Cartagena, Colombia: it consisted of Men’s and Women’s Singles, Men’s Women’s and Mixed Doubles, and a Team Event- there was lots of exciting squash being played
The event brought together a variety of players, including Former World No.1 Diego Elias of Peru and USA’s Sabrina Sobhy as the top seeds in the men’s and women’s draws.
In years when the Pan American Games take place, these Championships take on extra importance as they serve as the Qualifying event for the Games, which are set to be held in Oct/Nov in Santiago, Chile
Children from Squash Urbano were also able to watch the top-level squash in action, serving as an inspirational opportunity for them.
Squash Urbano provides life-changing opportunities to children from low-income families
in Colombia through education, mentoring, and the sport of squash.
PSAF also met with a number of different players and federations: highlighting our commitment to connecting with more of the squash community
The tournament showcased the talent of all players new faces and current ones, and the more connected we are with the sport the more we are able to help to grow participation worldwide.
