The PSA Foundation have just completed our most recent round of Rebound deliveries of donated squash gear going out to the community programmes we partner with. These squash programmes use the equipment to support local underserved children through squash and education.
A total of 763 items were distributed, including rackets, clothing, court shoes, balls and more. We are delighted to be able to recycle unwanted squash gear in such a meaningful way.
That unwanted old racket at the back of your wardrobe might be a child’s introduction to a new sport for life. Here’s the breakdown of what we distributed:
Item | Quantity |
---|---|
Rackets | 72 |
Balls | 313 |
Adult Sized Tops | 64 |
Junior Sized Tops | 145 |
Shorts / Skirts | 43 |
Court Shoes | 24 |
Sweatbands | 67 |
Goggles | 1 |
Racket String | 1 |
Grips | 26 |
Large Racket Bags | 7 |
Two fantastic sources of donations were England Squash, who donated a huge haul of donations from the Dunlop English Junior Championships, with many parents and juniors passing over their outgrown kit and last season’s racket. Our sponsors Dunlop also donated three boxes of squash balls per programme.
Donations are truly going to all four corners of the globe, including South Africa, Zimbabwe, India, Israel, Jordan, Colombia, El Salvador and Brazil. Find out more about these programmes here. One silver lining to the current global pandemic is it has introduced greater online communication with similar programmes internationally. This has led to a stronger network between these charities and the number of programmes we support are on the rise.
Interested in becoming a collection point for Rebound?
We typically accept donations at a selection of PSA World Tour events and also accept postal donations to our office in Leeds, UK. As the number of prorammes we support grows, we would like to expand on the accessibility to donate to our initiative.
This initiative is best suited for a squash club looking to engage in a recycling programme that also channels used and unwanted gear into charities supporting underserved children who want to play squash.
If you are a part of a club that would be interested in becoming a collection point, please fill out the expression of interest linked below.
Please note: We can only cover the delivery fees from our office in Leeds, UK, to the programmes we work with. The delivery fees from your collection point to our office would need to be sourced by yourselves.
