More Than Just A Ranking: Amina Orfi

More Than Just A Ranking is a series where we get a personal insight into squash players about more than just who they are on court.

In the episode, we spoke with rising star Amina Orfi on her hopes for her squash career and more!

Amina has been rapidly rising up the rankings- debuting on the main tour at Squash on Fire 2023: and getting all the way to the final on an incredible run.

She is also currently competing in the PSA World Championships for the first time, with a lot of excitemtn surrounding her squash.

“I started playing squash when I was five years old, taking two lessons per week for fun until I was about eight years old: then I started competing in national tournaments in Egypt.”

“The World Junior Championships is my biggest title so far, it was very special for me, I’m really happy to have won it and become the second youngest winner ever!”

“My all inspiration growing up is definitely Nicol David, she’s a legend on the court.”

“From Egypt, my biggest inspiration is Nour El Sherbini because she started at such a young age achieving so many things, and I hope to follow in her footsteps.”

“I was so excited to get a place in the World Championships, and I’m excited to see how I do!”
