The Sumner Malik Celebratory event, which will take place on Saturday December 22, will bring together the squash community to commemorate the life of Sumner Malik.

The event will be held at the Edgbaston Priory Club in Birmingham with tickets available for a full day of entertaining squash activities taking place in memory of Sumner.

Sumner's charisma, fun loving personality and passion for Squash brought together the global Squash community who rallied to help him battle Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma (DIPG) - a highly aggressive and difficult to treat brain tumour.

Sumner sadly lost his battle to DIPG this year, but the love, encouragement and affection of the squash community were always a huge part of his optimism in facing this hard battle.

The proceeds will be split between the PSA Foundation and England Squash and be used to fund the yearly continuity of the Sumner Celebratory event, create the Sumner Malik Legacy tournament for rising squash players and support squash grassroots projects.

Squash stars that will be attending the event include three-time World Champion Nick Matthew, England’s No.1 Declan James, England’s World No.6 Sarah-Jane Perry, former World No.1 James Willstrop, Wales’ World No.9 Tesni Evans, England’s former World No.3 Alison Waters and many more.
