PSA FOUNDATION HELP TO RAISE AUD$9,500 FOR AUSTRALIAN BUSHFIRE APPEAL

Tournament of Champions squash venue
With the PSA World Tour professional players, and the J.P. Morgan Tournament of Champions, the PSA Foundation has been able to raise AUD$9,500 for the Australian bushfires appeal.

The devastating bushfires have left a destructive mark across Australia. And with several players on the PSA World Tour heralding from the nation, the PSA Foundation and the wider squash community felt compelled to help out.

Plenty of PSA World Tour players got involved with the efforts. Ali Farag, Alison Waters, Cameron Pilley, Chris Hanson, David Palmer, Greg Lobban, Nick Matthew, Paul Coll, Ryan Cuskelly and Saurav Ghosal, along with the SQUASHTV commentary team helped the appeal. They put forward quality auction pieces which members of the public could bid on, with the money raised all going to the bushfire appeal.

Those players all put forward their own time to provide both individual and group coaching sessions. Pieces of signed kit, memorabilia and tickets for the 2021 Tournament of Champions final were also part of the auction. Squash fans could also bid to be part of the SQUASHTV commentary team for the day.

Overall, the auction pieces, along with other donations, raised USD$ 3,953.25 for the appeals. On top of that, Squash Engine donated USD$ 1,000 and the PSA World Tour also contributed USD$ 1,475.92. This brought the total raised to $6,429.17 (AUD$ 9,500).
